Al Reynolds, the ex-husband of Star Jones, claims he has been “very honest” with previous partners about his sexuality.
Star Jones filed for divorce from their husband, Al Reynolds, in 2008.
Jones and Reynolds, a banker seven years Jones’s junior, tied the knot in 2004 in a lavish ceremony that drew 500 guests and featured a horse-drawn carriage ride to the church. The ceremony also included contentious corporate sponsors.
In 2017, Reynolds, who was married to the former The View co-host from 2004-2008, came out as bisexual.
Now, he shares that each of his former partners were aware of his sexuality.
Star Jones’s ex-husband, Al Reynolds, says that while people found out that he’s bisexual a few years ago when he began a relationship with her, he made sure he was open and honest about his sexuality from the start — and she was just fine with it.
On the most recent episode of Fox Soul’s Tea-G-I-F, comedian Luenell, co-host Reynolds, Claudia Jordan, and guest co-host discussed whether or not transgender people should disclose their gender identity to a potential partner.
In his comments, 55-year-old Reynolds said he doesn’t think it’s “easy” for someone to disclose it since “there’s so many moving factors around this.”
In response, Reynolds’ prior marriage to Star Jones came up and Luenell questioned him about his sexual orientation. “Did you come out and expose yourself to Star when you first got married?”
“Oh my goodness, I have never been not truthful with anybody that I’ve dated,” Reynolds replied.
He continued, “I’ve talked about this on this platform before. I have always been very honest with all of my partners about my sexuality … all of them. At the time that I dated them, I’ve been very open and honest about my sexuality.
Star Jones has a new husband, Ricardo Lugo. The couple married in 2018 and renewed their vows in 2023.
