Summer Walker really had the internet doing a double-take after someone spotted her walking around Chicago at 2 a.m. in a pink bonnet, bedroom slippers, and a green bathrobe. And yes, she has already addressed the viral moment.
The video, shared by LiveBitez, shows the No Love singer casually strolling down a Chicago street toward what looks like a corner store. She holds onto her green robe while rocking a pink bonnet covering her hair and matching pink furry slippers. A man walks in front of her as she makes eye contact with the person recording and heads inside to handle her business.
Social media naturally had a field day. One fan tweeted, “Summer is just a free-spirited person. She is in her own lane, chilling.” Another person admitted, ‘I’ve never been more appalled and aroused at the same time ever in my life.” A third user joked, “That’s the old you either got kicked out the crib or you’re going to run out real quick for condoms attire.”
But Summer wasn’t about to let the speculation run wild without clearing things up. After the clip started circulating, an Instagram user slid into her DMs asking why she chose to walk around Chicago dressed like that. Summer kept it simple. She said she was minding her business and went to pick up some cigarettes.
Then Summer added some context that made the whole thing even better. She captioned the video explaining that she did not even know the man walking next to her. He just decided to pay for her stuff, and she walked back to her hotel alone and went to bed. She also wrote, “This celebrity s**t too weird. You can’t even walk to the corner store without going viral.”
For those wondering why Summer was in Chicago in the first place, she is currently in the middle of her Still Finally Over It Tour. The tour includes a stop at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Friday, June 12, and wraps up with two nights at the iconic O2 in London on August 1 and 2.
