‘Justice Doesn’t Have a Time Limit’: Rep Summer Lee Vows Continued Fight for Epstein Survivors

by Gee NY

Congresswoman Summer Lee is renewing calls for accountability in the long-running effort to uncover the full scope of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse network, declaring that survivors’ pursuit of justice will not be deterred by political resistance or institutional obstacles.

Speaking to reporters, Lee stated that the central focus should remain on the survivors who have spent decades seeking answers and accountability in a case that has continued to generate public scrutiny years after Epstein’s death.

“Justice doesn’t have a time limit,” Lee said. “No matter how much Comer or Bondi or Blanche or Trump or whoever else fights back against the truth coming out, this fight will continue.”

The remarks came as congressional efforts continue to obtain and review documents related to the Epstein investigation. Lee noted that she and fellow lawmakers had helped secure a subpoena seeking the release of files from the Department of Justice, describing the effort as part of a broader push for transparency.

In a social media post accompanying her comments, Lee highlighted the persistence of survivors who have spent years pressing for accountability.

“Survivors of Epstein’s abuse have been fighting for justice for decades,” she wrote. “No matter how unwilling any perpetrator or supporter of this coverup is, we will not let up.”

The Epstein case has remained one of the most controversial criminal investigations in recent American history. Epstein, a wealthy financier with connections to powerful political, business, and social figures, was accused of operating a years-long sex trafficking and abuse scheme involving underage girls.

He was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges in 2019 but died in a New York jail before standing trial. His death was ruled a suicide, though it has continued to fuel public speculation and demands for greater transparency.

Over the years, survivors and advocates have argued that many questions remain unanswered regarding who may have enabled, facilitated, or benefited from Epstein’s activities.

Those concerns intensified following the criminal conviction of Ghislaine Maxwell, who was found guilty in 2021 of helping recruit and groom underage girls for Epstein’s abuse.

Lee argued that Congress has a responsibility to pursue the truth regardless of political consequences, criticizing what she described as a recurring reluctance among institutions to hold powerful individuals accountable.

“We’ve seen over and over and over an unwillingness of power to be accountable to people,” Lee said.

She also expressed concern about what she characterized as a failure to prioritize the interests of women, children, and survivors throughout the process.

The Pennsylvania Democrat framed the issue as larger than any single investigation, saying it reflects broader questions about government oversight and whether Congress is willing to act independently in matters involving powerful interests.

For Lee, however, the central issue remains the survivors themselves.

“What we’re committed to doing is continuing to keep the main story the main story,” she said, arguing that the voices of those harmed should remain at the forefront of any discussion surrounding the case.

As lawmakers continue pressing for additional records and disclosures, Lee indicated that congressional scrutiny of the Epstein matter is unlikely to fade, echoing a message that has become a rallying cry for advocates seeking answers: justice delayed, she argued, should not mean justice denied.
