For Teyana Taylor, Porshe has always been a part of her journey. So it made sense that she would be featured in the car company’s “Dream Building” video series.
In the video, Taylor pulls up to Porsche’s experience center in Atlanta in a racing yellow Porsche 718 Cayman GT4.
“My parents had a Porsche. If I had appearances in DC or me and my friends wanted to go to a party it was like, ‘Alright, mom, this is where we want to go,’ and we literally took the Porsche everywhere. That was like our RV,” she explains.
In 2017, she bought her own. But the multi-hyphenate says that the car is more than just about a driving experience for her.
“I run my career like how car companies run their car companies,” she shares. “We’re always thinking about what can be better? So, for me, I look at it like, how can I be a better version of myself? That’s how I handled my career and life, in general, and that’s why I succeed.”
Taylor has proven herself to be a formidable performer, fashion icon and wife and mother. After announcing her retirement from the music industry, she was named as creative director of PrettyLittleThing.
Her first collection debuted at the brand’s New York Fashion Week runway show.
“I’ve been working on this second collection with PrettyLittleThing for months and I’m so excited to bring this to life at New York Fashion Week this season,” Taylor in a statement to the press. “It’s so important to me as Creative Director for the USA that I work with a team who truly understands my vision and we’re catering for EVERYBODY. You’re going to see male models walking for the very first time as we showcase this unisex collection and reintroduce kidswear alongside some familiar faces on the catwalk.”
