A Las Vegas mother of four was killed Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025, after a suspected DUI driver ran a red light and struck her while she was walking home.

Jessica Fodge, 31, had just dropped her children off at school when she was hit at the intersection of South University Center Drive and East Twain Avenue, according to police and family members.

“The car came and hit her and pinned her up and killed her right here,” said her fiancé, Devon Mayers, as he and their children gathered at the crash site to mourn her loss.

Heartbroken Family Mourns Their Loss

Fodge leaves behind four young children, ages six to nine, who are struggling to comprehend life without their mother.

“Mommy, I did not want you to die,” one of her daughters said tearfully. “I just didn’t want you to die because I wanted you to be here, and I also love you every day.”

To help support Fodge’s children, Mayers’ sister, Chanell Dudley, has organized a verified GoFundMe campaign titled “Aid Devon & His 4 Children After DUI Tragedy.” Mayers said the funds would be used for Fodge’s funeral, stressing that her children deserve the chance to say a final goodbye.

The driver, identified by police as Gerardo Lopez, was arrested on charges of suspicion of impairment and reckless driving. He is currently being held on $250,000 bail with a court date set for March 11.

A Life Dedicated to Family and Dreams of Nursing

Fodge was known for her love of the outdoors, hairdressing, and her children. Her family described her as a devoted mother who always prioritized her kids, ensuring that every outing included them.

“If we can’t bring the kids, we can’t go, period,” Mayers said. “She loved museums, being outside—she was the outdoorsman.”

Fodge also had dreams of entering the medical field and was planning to become a registered nurse.

“She really wanted to complete nursing school and become a doctor because she loved saving people,” Mayers said.

As her family now faces the unimaginable, they are holding onto her memory—one filled with love, laughter, and an unbreakable bond with her children.
