Vanessa Bryant, widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, is lending a helping hand to those affected by the devastating wildfires that have ravaged parts of Los Angeles.
Vanessa Bryant, along with the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, provided a beacon of hope for children impacted by the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles.
On Friday, January 19, Vanessa and various foundation members were seen at Dodger Stadium, handing out sneakers from Kobe Bryant’s legendary Nike collection, as well as other necessities, like socks, to the young survivors of the wildfires.
The foundation also aims to create a supportive atmosphere for underprivileged athletes, both boys and girls, in sports.
In a touching social media post earlier this week, Vanessa reflected on the emotional connection she shares with the wildfire victims, revealing that the first home she and Kobe lived in together in Los Angeles, located in the Palisades, was destroyed by fires. This personal experience fueled her dedication to supporting those affected by the tragedy.
“Kob and I used to live in the Palisades when we first got married (sadly, that home was on the street where the initial fire started 💔). We have so many beautiful memories from living in LA,” she wrote in her caption. “There are no words to make all the loss and devastation any better. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by the fires in LA. Our @mambamambacitasports is currently working to help the LA community. We love you, LA ❤️ #LASTRONG #We LA! We Love you @baby2baby! less ❤️.”
Kobe Bryant spent 20 seasons with the Lakers, contributing to five NBA Championships for the city. There is a statue of him outside Crypto.com Arena, next to that of his daughter, Giana, who tragically passed away in the same helicopter crash that took Kobe’s life in Calabasas in 2020.
Several other celebrities have contributed to the victims of the wildfires in Los Angeles, such as Halle Berry, Snoop Dogg, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Sharon Stone, and others.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, a variety of artists will come together for a benefit concert scheduled for January 30. The lineup of performers includes Billie Eilish and Finneas, Earth, Wind & Fire, Gracie Abrams, Green Day, Gwen Stefani, Jelly Roll, Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Lil Baby, Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more.
