Actress Vivica A. Fox has voiced her opinions regarding the steep prices of wigs, expressing her disapproval of spending excessive sums on hairpieces.

Vivica A. Fox has never been one to shy away from sharing her opinions, and her latest comments on the wig industry are no exception. While promoting her long-standing hairline, the “Set It Off” actress didn’t hold back when addressing the extravagant prices some women pay for wigs.

“I can’t stand when somebody tells me they spent $1200 on a wig. Girl! Now that’s good for you, but it better be some good hair,” Vivica quipped during a recent interview with BuzzFeed.

For Vivica, the concern goes beyond cost; it revolves around accessibility. With 16 years of experience managing the Vivica Fox Hair Collection, she takes pride in providing high-quality wigs and hairpieces that are affordable.

Her goal? To serve the everyday working woman who deserves to feel amazing without spending a fortune.

Following her previous successful partnerships with notable brands like Cadillac, Google, and Carshield, Vivica ventured into the beauty sector by establishing her own hair brand – The Vivica Fox Hair Collection, which she launched in partnership with Amekor Industries in 2008. This line provides a range of premium wigs and extensions designed for women.

“The secret to a perfect hairline is making it look affordable,” Vivica explained in the interview. “Everyone ain’t got $1200 to spend on a wig. So that’s what we aim to do at the Vivica Fox Hair Collection—think about the everyday working woman. That she can afford different styles, and then she would continue to come back like I’ve been doing now for 16 years.”

The actress-turned-entrepreneur emphasized that her brand’s primary emphasis has consistently been on affordability and diversity. She attributed the success of her hairline to her devoted customers, who have backed her vision throughout the years.

“And we have some very loyal customers.”

In 2019, The talk show host mentioned to Black Enterprise that marketing has been a key part of her success in selling high-quality wigs and extensions for the last decade.

“When I first got there, some of them wigs, I said umm, come on now, y’all!” said the actress and producer. “I wanted to make this brand a must-have for the everyday working women to the rock-and-roll girls. I wanted to make it affordable but also current. So we had to go through a lot of growth.”

Vivica Fox added that “we took the brand to another level” by taking a page from Sean “Puffy” Combs’ playbook.
