In a harrowing incident in Poinciana, Florida, a 14-year-old girl lost her life after her mother allegedly drowned her by holding her head underwater in a bathtub.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the tragedy, which Sheriff Marcos Lopez called “a dark day.”
Incident Details
Law enforcement responded to an “armed disturbance” call at a residence on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
According to Sheriff Lopez, officers arrived to find the suspect, Kelsey Glover, 35, wielding a hammer and attempting to harm a woman who was trying to intervene.
After apprehending Glover, deputies discovered her daughter, Giselle Glover, unresponsive in the bathroom.
Witnesses reported seeing Kelsey Glover holding Giselle’s head underwater and later chasing individuals in the house with the hammer.
Emergency responders transported the teen to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Ongoing Investigation
Sheriff Lopez confirmed that the incident is under a homicide investigation, though the official cause of death is pending a medical examiner’s report.
Glover, described as “uncooperative” during questioning, is being held without bail at the Osceola County Jail.
She currently faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery, with further charges expected as the investigation unfolds.
“We’re determined to get justice for Giselle,” Lopez stated, adding, “What happened to her is unimaginable.”
Background and Legal History
Authorities revealed that Glover had a prior domestic incident involving her daughter’s father, who had obtained an injunction against her.
The motive behind her actions remains unclear.
Sheriff Lopez emphasized the gravity of the situation:
“It was just something that we caught in the act, and God only knows in which direction that was going to go if we didn’t get there on time.”
