Reality TV star Jazmine Cheaves is facing intense backlash after a video surfaced online showing her telling her five-month-old son to stop crying because “he’s not a girl.”

The clip of Jazmine Cheaves yelling at her five-month-old son, Blaze, is making the rounds on the internet and sparking outrage and criticism from fans and followers. Many people chastised Cheaves for her apparent lack of empathy for her infant and for making gender-based assumptions about a baby’s behavior.

In the video, she can be heard shouting at him, “Blaze, I told you you’re not a girl. Stop screaming.” Just a second or two later, she addresses her followers, presumably via TikTok or Instagram Live, to explain why she did that.

“Yes, this is what he does all day; he just yells… I don’t like when he does that screaming s***; he’s not a girl,” Cheaves explained to her followers.

Naturally, this has sparked outrage among X users. Many were quick to criticize Cheaves, accusing her of perpetuating harmful gender stereotypes and failing to meet her child’s basic needs.

Furthermore, people are highlighting the current issues we face with men’s inability to express themselves, as well as how this begins with their babies.

“This is exactly where the damage begins …. Telling a boy he can’t cry,” a fan pointed out.

Another user added, “This is why men have a hard time expressing emotions….this is where it starts.”

Others pointed out the basic things babies do while watching television shows, especially those that excite them.

Another added, “Telling a baby to stop doing the only thing it knows is crazy.”

“So what does she want the baby to do, growl? Like, you all really do not need kids,” another fan commented.

Regardless of the circumstances, the public has responded quickly and harshly, with many calling for Cheaves to apologize for her insensitive remarks. Social media has been inundated with comments expressing disappointment and frustration with the reality star.
