Solange Knowles, the avant-garde R&B artist and creative powerhouse, has sent waves of excitement through her fanbase with a subtle yet tantalizing hint about her musical return.
In a recent interview with Vogue Australia, the singer revealed her plans to prioritize music in the near future.
“Honestly, I never stop making music,” Solange shared. “I’ve never stopped, and I’ll probably dedicate myself to it full-time next year.”
This declaration comes nearly five years after the release of her critically acclaimed 2019 album, When I Get Home. In the interim, Solange has been deeply immersed in a spectrum of artistic endeavors that extend far beyond the recording studio.
“Over the past five years, I’ve focused on creating works that I hope will inspire and occupy a space-time far beyond my own existence,” she explained. “I’m preparing spiritually, physically, artistically, and mentally for my future self at 60 or 70.”
During her hiatus from traditional music projects, Solange’s artistic journey has included composing for ballets, crafting sculptures, publishing books, and even curating performance programs.
She has embraced discomfort as a catalyst for growth, calling the last several years a “very rich time” in her creative evolution.
However, the siren call of music remains undeniable. “I picked up the drums again a few weeks ago, and I feel like music is meant to capture the spirit. It freezes it in time like no other art form,” she said, hinting at the profound connection she continues to share with her first love.
The announcement has sparked anticipation among fans and critics alike, who eagerly await what the boundary-pushing artist will deliver next.
Whether through her bold compositions or her immersive visual projects, her artistry remains as innovative and inspiring as ever.
