Grammy Award-winning gospel star Le’Andria Johnson is addressing her fans following her recent arrest for public intoxication. The incident, which reportedly involved Johnson shouting profanities on the street, led to police intervention, where officers determined she had been drinking before taking her into custody.

The Greenville police report said officers were called Monday night to the area outside Brick Top after a report of a disturbance. Authorities indicated that Johnson had an odor of alcohol, wobbled while trying to remain still, exhibited slurred speech, and noted that the cup she provided held a brownish liquid that had a strong scent of an alcoholic drink.

The news sent shockwaves through the gospel community, as Johnson is not only a beloved figure in the industry but also known for her candid approach to life’s struggles. The singer, celebrated for powerful tracks like “Better Days” and “Change Is Now,” took to social media to speak out about the incident in a video shared with Christian media personality Larry Reid.

In the emotional clip, Johnson thanked her supporters for standing by her during this difficult time. “To all of my fans, family, friends, and supporters, thank you so much for your continued prayers and love,” she said. “I do see all of the text messages and all of the phone calls. I’m just taking this time now to really move soft.”

The singer didn’t shy away from acknowledging her ongoing personal journey, reminding fans that growth is not always linear. “If y’all know me, you will know that this is a daily walk, and this has been a daily walk for some time now. And I’m yet still growing.”

Johnson also took a moment to thank Reid for reaching out to hear her side of the story rather than relying on speculation. “Thank you for waiting to contact me to get it from me, as opposed to everybody else just putting out what they want,” she shared.

The singer’s arrest has sparked conversations among fans and the gospel community, many of whom have offered prayers and words of encouragement.

On Tuesday afternoon, Le’Andria Johnson paid a $257.50 bond and was released from the Greenville County Detention Center. Records did not show a court date.
