Shannon Amos, the daughter of the late actor John Amos, has taken a step by hiring an attorney to investigate the circumstances surrounding her father’s hospitalization and eventual death.
According to reports from TMZ, Shannon has turned to attorney James H. Davis III to lead the investigation. Davis expressed the family’s determination to learn more in his statement, stressing, “The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr. Amos’ care and the events that led to his passing. We are committed to pursuing all available avenues to ensure that these questions are answered.”
The center of this inquiry is Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles, where John was admitted. Shannon is understandably frustrated with the hospital’s lack of transparency. One disturbing claim that has surfaced is that someone may have impersonated her as John’s daughter during his admission, raising concerns about possible breaches of protocol.
As John’s only daughter, Shannon has made numerous requests for her father’s medical records but has received nothing so far. Her legal team is troubled by the hospital’s failure to provide this crucial information despite her having made three formal requests.
“Ms. Amos and her legal team stress how important transparency is in healthcare and the fundamental right of families to access critical medical information. We are committed to continuing our investigation to seek answers and hold those responsible accountable,” Davis explained.
The investigation aims to clarify several key points, including when John was admitted, his condition at that time, and if proper procedures were followed during his care.
Earlier this year, Shannon also reached out to Adult Protective Services, alleging that her father was facing elder abuse from her brother, K.C. Amos, and she’s anxious to know if any investigation has been initiated.
Her brother K.C. revealed their father’s passing in October, a piece of news that Shannon revealed she learned about through the media. John Amos actually passed away on August 21, but his publicist, Belinda Foster, later explained the delay in news coverage by placing blame on Shannon. Interestingly, Foster is the same person Shannon suspects of impersonating her at the hospital.
John Amos was a beloved figure in Hollywood, known for iconic roles in shows like “Good Times” and “Roots.” His passing has left a profound impact on both his family and his fans, who are mourning alongside them during this difficult time.
