Sharita Cristwell, a 29-year-old Maryland makeup artist and mother of two, was shot and killed during an argument with her boyfriend on Saturday, July 5, 2025, according to authorities.
Police say Cristwell’s longtime partner, Harry Lindsay, allegedly pulled out a firearm during the dispute inside a Landover apartment and fatally shot her. Cristwell was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Family members described a history of violence between the couple. Just four days before the shooting, Lindsay allegedly attempted to strangle Cristwell, her relatives said.
“He said, ‘Ma, I’m sorry and I love you. I love your daughter and I’ll never do it again,’” Cristwell’s mother told local reporters. “Four days later, he killed my baby.”
Cristwell’s sister, Kim, broke down in court as she recalled the moments leading to her sibling’s death.
“She did try to get away,” Kim said. “But it was not in time. It was too late. We won’t see her anymore.”
Lindsay, the father of Cristwell’s two children, is now facing charges of first- and second-degree murder. He is being held without bail.
Authorities are urging anyone experiencing domestic abuse to seek help immediately.
