Grammy-winning gospel singer Naomie Raine has officially announced her departure from the renowned worship collective Maverick City Music, marking the end of an era for one of gospel’s most beloved groups.

Raine, who joined Maverick City Music in its early days and helped shape its soulful, genre-blending sound, shared the news on social media on Monday, Oct. 6, alongside fellow member Chandler Moore, who also announced his exit.

“After a lot of prayer and consideration, I’ve decided that now is the best time to share that I am no longer a part of Maverick City Music,” Raine wrote. “Being a part of Mav truly changed my life! What started as a group of folks singing in a shed has turned into something I could’ve never even imagined!… And now I believe God has given me the green light to step into what He’s calling me to do individually. Still writing. Still singing. Still worshipping and leading others in worship – just on my own… this isn’t really an ending, but a new beginning.”

Raine, who has released acclaimed solo projects including Back to Eden, The Journey, and the forthcoming Jesus Over Everything (Live in Las Vegas), disclosed that this new chapter is about following her faith and artistic calling.

“God’s not done yet,” she added.

Founded in 2018, Maverick City Music quickly became one of the most influential gospel collectives of the decade. Known for chart-topping hits likePromises” and “Jireh,” the group has earned five Grammy Awards and topped Billboard’s Top Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts with records like Old Church Basement (with Elevation Worship) and The Maverick Way Complete Vol. 2.

Moore, in his own post, described the transition as “bittersweet,” calling Maverick City “something I poured my heart into.” He reflected, “When we started Mav, I was grateful to have community and belonging while fulfilling my dream of making music that would help people experience God. And we did that… in ways I couldn’t have imagined.”

As both artists step into their solo journeys, fans are celebrating their contributions to Maverick City Music’s legacy—one defined by unity, authenticity, and spiritual revival through song.
