Sexyy Red reportedly performed at the wedding of Trump’s adviser, Alex Bruesewitz, a high-profile affair that took place across Mar-a-Lago and Trump National Doral Miami.

Footage from the celebration shows the St. Louis rapper hitting the stage to perform her breakout hit “Get It Sexyy,” bringing her signature energy to a room filled with conservative insiders and celebrity guests. The guest list alone raised eyebrows. Michael Blackson was there, cracking jokes. Amber Rose posted photos from the festivities. Nicki Minaj arrived with her husband, drawing even more attention to the already buzzy event. Early chatter suggested 50 Cent was also in attendance, though that was later shut down after confirmation that he was performing at a birthday party in New York that same night.

Nicki Minaj’s presence added another layer to the story. According to Complex, she was among several high-profile names invited to the GOP-adjacent celebration. Her appearance came just days after she publicly referred to herself as Donald Trump’s “No. 1 fan” during the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she was photographed holding the former president’s hand and declaring her loyalty.

Sexyy Red’s political positioning, however, has been far more fluid. While she previously made headlines for praising Trump-era stimulus checks and leaning into patriotic visuals during her “Make America Sexy Again” rollout, she later walked that back.

In November 2024, she publicly stated that she voted for Kamala Harris, distancing herself from earlier comments that had fueled MAGA speculation. That shift hasn’t stopped critics from questioning her decision to perform at an event tied so closely to Trump’s inner circle.

Social media reactions have ranged from disappointment to indifference. Some fans argue that a job is a job, especially in an industry where artists are frequently asked to entertain audiences they don’t personally identify with. Others see it as another example of celebrity culture drifting too comfortably into political spaces without accountability.

Sexyy Red, for her part, has not publicly addressed the wedding performance. She has also not retracted her previous statement about voting for Harris.
