Renowned natural hair enthusiast Taliah Waajid is back at it again with her annual hair, beauty, health and wellness show taking place at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta on April 22-23.
Dubbed The World Natural Hair Show, the cultural movement will showcase people from all spectrums who “positively shape society’s views of Black beauty, lifestyle and culture.”
This year, the show will highlight the importance of self-care, confidence and community with the help of hundreds of celebrities and influencers who will participate in workshops and seminars throughout the two-day event. The event will also host an awards gala and will invite over 300 vendors who are leaders within multicultural beauty.
“[The event has] information for people to make the best decisions that they can in their life…it is a lifestyle event, as well as a hair show,” Waajid told Black Enterprise.
Waajid boasts over 25 years of experience as a natural hair expert whose popular hair and body care line Taliah Waajid became the first chemical-free beauty products line for natural hair. Business has been booming ever since its launch with her line currently being sold at national corporations, including Sally Beauty, Target and Walmart, among others.
“I don’t want the excitement about natural hair to fade away,” Waajid told the publication. “This is the only relevant show that celebrates natural hair and gives information to customers, professionals retailers and everybody else about this industry. I want them to know that we are still just as excited today as we’ve ever been.”
Other nationally-recognized brands will be there as well, including Mielle Organics, AMBI, Camille Rosee Naturals and Crème of Nature. Newer brands will also showcase their products to the masses in an attempt to break into the haircare industry.
Black Enterprise anticipates approximately 30,000 to be in attendance at the event. Tickets are priced at just $10 and will include leading experts in the health, wellness and finance industries as well, including Dr. Sebi’s daughter, Kellie Bowman and Doctor Holistic who will discuss how to take ownership of one’s health. Rush Gram and 19 Keys will also provide financial guidance to attendees.
“I want people to know that natural hair is here to stay. It’s not going anywhere. Come see what’s new and see how we continue to elevate this space positively.”
