Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 48 hours, you’ve probably already seen Nicki Minaj’s interview with Hot97’s DJ Funkmaster Flex.
Currently busy promoting her new album ‘Queen,’ Minaj spilled more tea about her breakup with reality television star, Safaree and her anger over his claims that he wrote her rhymes.
“You don’t know the f*cked up sh*t he did to me. It don’t give you a right to lie about someone’s craft just because you know that they’re a woman and people will believe you. So now years later you want to come back and say ‘I lied’ after you’ve tried to tarnish my image. I’ve gotten over it now because you can go and listen to Queen and hear it for your mothaf*cking self,” she stated.
But she didn’t stop there.
“I’ve always been adamant that I’ve always written my own raps and I want all women to write their own raps… For one person to do something like this to me out of sheer weakness and passive aggression and just hatefulness and vindictiveness because you got caught sh*tting on a person who was taking care of you for years and years? Because you got caught sh*tting on a person who was taking care of you while you were paying for prostitutes and stealing their credit cards?”
Oh, dear. Not what we were expecting to hear. And as our jaws were busy hitting the floor, Safaree took to Twitter to give his side of the story.
“We know each other inside out. Everything there was for us. I didn’t use your card for prostitutes. We both didn’t trust each other. You did sh*t I did sh*t. You said you were messing with meek a few years b4 y’all got together and I’m not mad at that.”
“Remember the night you cut me and i almost died the police and ambulance had to take me out the crib on a stretcher and I had to lie and tell them I was trying to kill myself so they wouldn’t take you to jail,” he continued. “When things like that start happening more Than once it’s time to dip.“
A back and forth ensued on Twitter between Nicki and Safaree, turning the rollout of her album into a bitter social media circus.
Ever the optimist (or opportunist depending on your view), Safaree used the opportunity to promote a new single and this morning (Wed. Aug 15) tweeted the following?
“Wow. woke up to a book deal offer for over 500k and an endorsement deal for a hair club for men and that was the 1st offer THANK YOU BABY guess imma add author to my long list of hustles“
The pair were together for years and it would be really sad if he did take the check. Some things are worth more than the money. Should Safaree take the deal or nah?
