Doja Cat’s discussion with Angie Martinez took an unexpected turn when Angie brought up a long-standing rumor: Does Doja Cat worship the devil?

Rather than avoiding the topic or shifting the conversation, Doja responded in her usual honest and enigmatic way, stirring up a buzz on Twitter.

“I think about it a lot. I think about it almost every day,” she shared with Angie. “Every single part. Every time I can pinpoint when that’s happened to me during my career. It’s happened a lot. And I think it’s not for me to prove to people who cannot or don’t wish to listen.”

Doja Cat first captured the public’s attention in 2018 with her viral “Mooo!” video, a playful track about being a cow that unexpectedly catapulted her to fame. Since then, she has made a name for herself by merging absurdity with creative artistry, though recent choices have led to darker conversations among fans. Take, for instance, her striking red Schiaparelli outfit at Paris Fashion Week 2023, which some labeled “demonic.” Then came the tattoo based on a mythological creature from a 1616 book, which had conspiracy theorists claiming she’d “sold her soul.” Doja’s reaction was a nonchalant “your fear is not my problem.”

This bold attitude was evident in her interview with Angie. “Being creative is a good outlet for addressing things,” she noted. “I can express how I feel with music, or with an outfit, or with a painting. But unless someone asks beautiful questions, I don’t really want to talk about it.” Essentially, she prefers channeling negativity into her art rather than defending herself online.

Clearly, Doja isn’t out to change anyone’s perspective. Her muted response to “satanic” accusations is a calculated choice.
