Doja Cat turned off her comments after people left nasty comments about her African-ancestry natural coily hair.
Soon after stopping that hateful commentary, the singer dropped a video calling out social media users who compared the texture of her hair to pubic hair and cotton.
The kerfuffle started when Doja Cat gave fans a preview of her upcoming single “Masc” last week, which is set to be released in April.
Doja shared what appeared to be the cover art for her new album, Scarlet 2: Claude Frollo. The cover art for her upcoming single, “Masc,” included a close-up of her hair and an image from the single.
Doja decided to disable her comments after receiving a series of negative responses and reactions about her natural curls. She then took to her Instagram Live to respond to the disparaging remarks about her hair.
The “Agora Hills” rapper told her 24 million-plus followers to stop comparing her tight curl pattern to “sheep and pubes and carpet and popcorn and shit like that.”
“So my hair, to describe it, is 4c hair texture. And a lot of y’all don’t give a f*ck. That’s great. Let it wiz on by. That’s my hair.”

Doja Cat continued, “However, seeing a consistent pattern in my comment section of people saying, ‘Is my hair pubic hair? Is it carpet, or is it sheep wool? And it’s not even the questions. But people comparing my hair to pubic hair, carpet, sheep’s hair, popcorn, and stuff like that.”

“We got to move forward. Let’s move forward. Let’s grow. “I can’t tell you what to do. I’m not your fucking parents. I don’t want to say too much,” she added.
Unsurprisingly, Doja Cat addressed these comments because she has always been vocal about her struggles with her hair.
The Grammy winner inherited her hair from her father, Dumisani Dlamini, a South African actor and dancer.
