Nicki Minaj is trending online after uploading two pics to social media, teasing an upcoming project scheduled to drop Friday… and her pink crocs went viral too.
Nicki is seen posing on a pink desk, seemingly nude, clutching fuzzy pink heart pillows to protect her modesty. The rapper is rocking a high ponytail, plenty of bling and a lot of Chanel as she looks directly into the camera.
“F R I D A Y 🤞🏽” Nicki captioned the post.
Fans quickly speculated whether or not Nicki would be dropping a music project or a “Queen Radio” episode on Friday. Nicki has not dropped a full project since her 2018 album, “Queen.”
One thing’s for certain, her influence has not faded. After fans spotted Nicki’s pink crocs, searches for the word “crocs” skyrocketed.
In June 2019, Minaj announced on “Queen Radio” that she and then-fiance Kenneth “Zoo” Petty had obtained a marriage license and would be heading down the aisle shortly.
“We did get our marriage license,” she told her fans. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
In September 2019, Minaj announced her retirement via Twitter: “I’ve decided to retire and have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box—cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE.”
She then walked back on the tweet, apologizing to her fans.
“I’m still right here,” she explained. “Still madly in Love with you guys and you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion and it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt and insensitive, I apologize babe.”
Nicki and Kenneth welcomed their son on Sept. 30.
