Ice Spice is setting the record straight! The rapper took to Instagram to dispel rumors that her recent weight loss was caused by the diabetes medication Ozempic.
In recent years, Ozempic has gained acceptance in the Hollywood community. Stars such as Oprah Winfrey and Tracy Morgan have admitted to using the weight loss drug to help them maintain their weight and get help losing weight.
Fans first noticed Ice Spice’s weight loss during her performance at the 24th Annual BET Awards in Los Angeles on June 30. The Princess Diana rapper’s infamous curves could barely be seen in the skimpy two-piece lacy outfit. The look included a lace top tied in the front and on the arms over a white bra, lace knickers, and fur leg warmers worn with trainers.
But the 24-year-old rapper’s drastic weight loss at the Wireless Festival 2024 at Finsbury Park on July 12, 2024, in London, England, got fans worried, tongues wagging, and fingers pointing to Ozempic.
The media blog Media TakeOut also contributed to the rumors after reporting an exclusive from an insider in Ice Spice’s camp.
According to the media outlet, the Bronx rapper has been taking Ozempic to get “thinner” to get a larger fan base.
“Ice Spice is trying to become more of a pop star and not so much a female ‘rapper.’ She’s looking to compete with some of the new up-and-coming artists like Tyla, and her team decided that you can’t do that with huge BBL,” Media Take Out reported.
According to the insider, Ice Spice has changed her diet and is now taking “small doses” of the diet drug Ozempic.
However, Ice Spice’s most recent post aims to put those rumors to rest once and for all. In addition to the gym seat photo, she included several videos of her intense workouts, ranging from weightlifting to high-intensity interval training, demonstrating the effort she has put into losing her ‘curves.’
She shared a collection of photos on Instagram. The photos showed her flaunting and serving body in a bikini and an image of a sweaty gym seat, which appeared to confirm that she had been working out.
The caption says “I love,” followed by flag and star emojis.
