Following the Ice Spice portrait Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West shared on social media recently, the 23-year-old Bronx rapper has seemingly become gal pals with the 9-year-old influencer.
In a clip posted on TikTok, the Munch star is seen recording herself in a pink velour suit and icy chain while mouthing the lyrics to the hit single Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2. Behind her is North wearing a white t-shirt and matching pants mouthing the lyrics along with her friend.
It appears the chummy friendship began after North recorded a step-by-step process of her drawing a picture of her musical role model while the same song played. The adolescent influencer is seen rocking metallic pink nails then pans the camera towards herself to sing along with the song.
As soon as she posted the drawing to her 14 million followers, TMZ caught up with the star to get her reaction.
“So cute. Thank you, North,” she said, adding that the reality star is “so talented.”
Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2 has become a hit sensation after making its waves on social media. It entered Spotify’s Top 50 at No. 5 and has garnered over 4.1 million streams.
“Unlike many New York drill rappers, who tend toward the antic, Ice Spice raps with equanimity: calm, controlled and almost reticent, letting each line linger ever so slightly, almost as if to draw you to her before she again pushes you away,” writes a New York Times report featuring the star.
Born Isis Gaston, Ice Spice grew up in the Bronx and began her career in 2021 after she met producer RiotUSA while attending the University of New York at Purchase. She would soon become a star after recording Munch (Feelin’ U), which became an international hit.
“She makes this thing we call sexy drill,” Nicole Racine, founder of Talk of the Town, a media company that documents New York drill music told The New York Times. “Her being sexy, being feminine, not the rah-rah drill that we expect.”
