Jhené Aiko recently took to social media to address a fan who mistakenly referred to Big Sean as her husband.

Jhené Aiko has cleared up yet another misconception about her personal life, reminding fans that she’s not married. The R&B singer, known for her ethereal voice and introspective lyrics, addressed the speculation in an Instagram exchange Sunday night.

Big Sean and Aiko initially met in 2012 at the renowned producer No I.D. studio, as they shared during a 2016 interview with Flaunt Magazine. Around the same period, the pair worked together on Big Sean’s tracks “Beware” and “I’m Gonna Be.”

Not long after their introduction, the pair went to a Los Angeles Lakers game together, even though Aiko was in a relationship then.

Following their work together on tracks for their individual albums, Big Sean and Aiko chose to seize the moment with their joint EP named Twenty88. The steamy album cover and the pair’s connection in the later music videos made fans wonder if there was more to their relationship than just music. Nevertheless, Aiko was still married to producer Dot da Genius at that time.

After Jhené Aiko initiated divorce proceedings against Dot Da Genius, citing “irreconcilable differences,” she and Big Sean were spotted together for the first time as a couple at a Los Angeles Lakers game at the Staples Center. The couple was seen holding hands and sharing laughs while seated courtside.

Despite their highs and lows, they celebrated the arrival of their son, Noah Hasani, in 2022 on Instagram. Aiko is already a mother to a 16-year-old daughter, Namiko Love, whom she shares with singer O’Ryan.

Recently, Jhené opened up about the devastating loss of her home due to the Los Angeles wildfires. Reflecting on the destruction, Aiko shared a poignant message about gratitude and grief.

“In gratitude always! It seems silly to mourn material things, but when those things are connected to precious memories, it is heavy. Grief is a tricky thing, but possession is an illusion. Nothing ever truly belongs to us. Things only stay the same for a limited time, always.”

Amid the emotional post, a fan commented, “You and your husband are amazing people,” likely referencing Jhené’s long-term partner, Big Sean.

However, Aiko was quick to set the record straight.

“I don’t have a husband,” she replied.

The simple but direct response sparked a wave of reactions from fans who speculated about the status of her relationship with rapper Big Sean.
Although they’ve never announced an engagement or marriage, fans often assume the duo might have secretly tied the knot. Aiko’s latest comment, however, reaffirms her single status.
