Former Vice President Harris is taking one of her first steps after her 2024 White House bid by signing with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
According to a statement from CAA, the talent agency will represent Harris across various areas, with a focus on speaking engagements and publishing.
“CAA will work closely with Harris on her post-White House initiatives, creating strategic opportunities that expand her platform in support of the issues she has championed throughout her decades-long career in public service,” the Los Angeles-based company said.
Harris’s decision to sign with CAA isn’t unprecedented—the agency previously represented her during her tenure as a California senator before she became vice president.
She joins other high-profile political figures under CAA’s representation, including former President Biden, who signed with the agency earlier this month, as well as former President Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
While Harris has kept quiet about her plans following her 2024 election loss to President Trump, recent polling suggests she would be the Democratic frontrunner in California’s 2026 gubernatorial race if she decides to run. A survey by Emerson College Polling, Inside California Politics, and The Hill found that Harris holds 57 percent support among Democratic primary voters in the state.
By comparison, former Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.), who left the House for an unsuccessful Senate bid in 2024, sits at 9 percent, while former California State Assembly Speaker Antonio Villaraigosa (D) and current Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis (D) each poll at 4 percent. Seventeen percent of respondents remain undecided.
Despite mounting speculation, the 60-year-old former VP has downplayed talk of a gubernatorial bid. Earlier this month, she brushed off questions about her future, saying, “I have been home for two weeks and three days.”
Still, many see California’s governorship as a natural next step for Harris, given her deep ties to the state and her political experience as a former attorney general and U.S. senator. Meanwhile, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), who is term-limited, is widely expected to shift his focus to national politics.
