A Texas woman is changing the game for women looking to find spaces where they feel included in the business industry.
Marty McDonald, founder and CEO of Boss Women Media, knew she was on to something when she found a need to create a safe and trusted space for Black and Brown women to be empowered. Her brand currently works to connect women with ways to discuss and strategize pathways on how to develop the career of their dreams. She conceived the idea based on connection and manifested it into an influential community of more than 100,000 women.
At Boss Women Media, we are committed to Black entrepreneurs,” McDonald told Black Love. “We believe in building a support network for these women and providing them with the tools needed to succeed. Building Women for the Future and our partnership with BBA allow us to further our impact in the small business community and showcase brands, businesses, and Black women entrepreneurs on the main stage. Our initiatives exist to support these women whether that be with our time or our financial Investments.”
According to her, this is just the beginning. Her plans include expanding the network by creating more workshops and joint initiatives to connect more women with big goals and dreams. She currently launched a partnership with Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator (BBA) and is on tour tour to meet entrepreneurial women of color, provide them with the access, tools and resources to become the leaders of their generation. Her next stop will be in Atlanta on October 7. Attendees will learn about how to accelerate their small businesses and will host pitch competitions to support Black women entrepreneurs. Five eligible winners will receive a $10,000 investment in addition to free enrollment in BBA.
