Mariah The Scientist wants women to think twice before writing off men with kids.
The songstress, who has been in a public relationship with rapper Young Thug since 2021, recently shared how her experience with a partner who is a father of six has given her a new perspective on parenting and what it means to be a “family unit.”
In a candid interview, Mariah admitted she used to be one of those women who swore she’d never date a man with children.
The 27-year-old revealed that she was once one of those women who thought, “I don’t want to date a man with kids.” But her perspective shifted after getting to know Young Thug, a father who became a dad at 17. Watching him navigate fatherhood showed her the ins and outs of parenting, from the challenges to the joys, in a way she never anticipated.
Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffrey Williams, now co-parents his children with four different women. According to Mariah, being in his life has given her a front-row seat to parenting.
“It’s taught me more about a family unit than anything I could have ever imagined,” she explained, calling parenting “very interesting” and “hard.”
The couple’s journey began in early 2021, and they have been a public item ever since, even through the most challenging times. Mariah’s loyalty has been on full display since Young Thug was arrested in May 2022 on RICO and gang-related charges. Throughout his ongoing incarceration and high-profile trial, she has remained a steadfast supporter, communicating with him daily and leading “Free Thug” chants at her concerts.
