In a tragic turn of events, a 31-year-old man has been arrested in Missouri after confessing to the murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his four children, 29-year-old Marquisha Williams.
Williams had been missing since last week, prompting a thorough investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department.
The man, Trenton Ivy, was taken into custody on Friday and charged with one count of first-degree murder in connection to Williams’ slaying. Authorities apprehended him in Racine, Wisconsin, approximately 350 miles northeast of St. Louis, where he resides.
According to a news release from the police department, Williams was reported missing by her family on December 20. An investigation revealed that she was last seen with Ivy in the northern part of St. Louis.
The couple dropped off their four children at various locations before Williams was supposed to go to work on the morning of December 20. However, she never arrived at her job.
Ivy was arrested in Racine on December 22 on unrelated criminal charges, including using a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and fleeing from an officer in a vehicle.
At the time of his arrest, he was driving Williams’ 2020 Jeep Compass, which was located with blood and biological material inside, along with personal items belonging to Williams.
During a post-Miranda interview with detectives in Racine, Ivy admitted to killing Williams in St. Louis. He confessed to a physical altercation with Williams that resulted in her death and disclosed disposing of her body at an undisclosed location.
Ivy is currently held without bond in Wisconsin, awaiting extradition to St. Louis to face the first-degree murder charge.
Williams’ family expressed their heartbreak over her tragic death, describing her as sweet, calm, and loving toward her children.
The couple had separated earlier in the year but was co-parenting their children. Williams had recently started seeing someone else, a development that may have triggered Ivy.
Despite Ivy’s admission, the family remains determined to find Williams’ body to bring closure to this devastating situation.
