Former First Lady Michelle Obama is gearing up to launch her first podcast, centering on relationships.
Obama announced the news via her Twitter account.
“I’m thrilled to announce a new project: The #MichelleObamaPodcast with Spotify! It’s been a tough year and I hope this podcast can help us explore what we’re going through and spark new conversations with our loved ones. I can’t wait for you all to listen on July 29,” she tweeted.
According to a press release, the podcast will “bring listeners the former first lady’s most candid and personal conversations, showing us what’s possible when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, to open up, and to focus on what matters most”.
“My hope is that this series can be a place to explore meaningful topics together and sort through so many of the questions we’re all trying to answer in our own lives,” Obama said in a statement. “Perhaps most of all, I hope this podcast will help listeners open up new conversations –and hard conversations — with the people who matter most to them. That’s how we can build more understanding and empathy for one another.”
The podcast will tackle a plethora of topics, including sibling relationships and raising children to girlfriends, women’s health, mentorship, and marriage.
Dr. Sharon Malone MD, Craig Robinson, Valerie Jarett, Conan O’Brien, and Michele Norris have all been listed as guests of the show.
“The Michelle Obama Podcast” debuts July 29 on Spotify and will be available to nearly 300 million Free and Premium users around the world.
