Rapper Monaleo is recovering in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery that resulted in the loss of an ovary and fallopian tube, forcing her to cancel scheduled performances and pause her busy touring schedule.
The Houston artist shared the news directly with fans, explaining that the health scare began suddenly. She said she experienced a sharp pain in her lower abdomen that intensified within hours. After taking pain medication and seeing no relief, the discomfort worsened to the point where she could barely complete an ultrasound without feeling sick.
Doctors later discovered an inflamed cyst the size of a softball that had twisted, cutting off blood flow and causing internal bleeding in her abdomen. The severity of the situation required immediate surgery. During the procedure, Monaleo lost an ovary and a fallopian tube.
Still hospitalized in Memphis at the time of her message, the rapper expressed regret over having to cancel her shows. She acknowledged the effort fans put into traveling to see her perform, including purchasing outfits and booking hair and makeup appointments. She assured supporters that refunds are being processed and that her team is working to reschedule dates.
Monaleo also used the moment to encourage others to pay attention to their bodies when something feels wrong. She admitted that she typically avoids going to the emergency room but recognized that seeking medical care when she did may have prevented the situation from becoming more severe.
While she did not specify how long her recovery will take, the rapper promised fans that she intends to return stronger. Referring to herself as the “Pimpcess,” she told supporters to wait for her as she focuses on healing and preparing for her comeback.
Prayers to Monaleo!
