Nicki Minaj is taking meaningful steps in Jamaica to deliver vital supplies and support to those impacted by the recent disaster.
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, one of the fiercest storms to hit the Caribbean, the renowned rapper has organized multiple teams across Jamaica to assist families grappling with the aftermath. Through her initiative, The Barbz Foundation, teams are actively on the ground, providing food, water, stoves, cooking gas, and care packages to families in some of the hardest-hit regions, including Westmoreland. Videos and photos shared online showcase her team in foundation-branded gear, engaging with community members and distributing essential supplies directly to them.
Reports indicate that Nicki personally committed to the relief efforts, dispatching her team to Jamaica right after the storm passed. Their mission continues to evolve as they expand their outreach, guaranteeing that communities receive much-needed essentials as they embark on the arduous path to recovery.

Joining her mission are Jamaican artists Skeng and Shaniel Muir, who have been collaborating with Nicki’s team to aid families throughout western Jamaica. Their involvement has provided comfort and fostered a sense of unity among residents who have lost their homes, food, and security due to the hurricane.
Hurricane Melissa escalated from a tropical storm to a dangerous Category 4 hurricane within a single day, propelled by unusually warm sea temperatures. By the time it reached Jamaica, it had intensified into a Category 5 storm, wreaking havoc across the island before moving on to Cuba. The destruction left homes in ruins, power outages widespread, and entire communities isolated and in urgent need of assistance.
Knowing the deep connections she has to the Caribbean through her Trinidadian roots, Nicki has always been vocal about supporting her heritage. When crises arise in the region, she steps up. Her relief efforts through The Barbz Foundation not only provide immediate support but also highlight the pressing needs of those affected by the hurricane.
In Westmoreland, residents have received not only staples for survival but also essential tools for rebuilding their lives, including stoves, cooking gas, and other long-term necessities, aiming to restore dignity and a sense of normalcy after a devastating storm.
