North West is trending once again, and this time it’s because her mom showed up. Unexpectedly. And the internet loved it.
A short clip from North’s recent Instagram livestream has taken over social media after Kim Kardashian made a surprise appearance—well, sort of—while supervising her 12-year-old daughter online. Almost instantly, fans crowned Kim a “W mom,” praising her for being present, attentive, and firm without stealing the spotlight.
North, streaming from her account @northwsst, was in her element. She chatted comfortably with fans about making beats, working on music, and stepping into what she clearly sees as her producer era. But just when viewers thought this was a solo moment, the mood shifted.
Cue the plot twist. Mom was in the room.
Kim Kardashian never fully stepped on camera, but her presence was undeniable. At one point, she jokingly asked, “Why are you watching my Live?” North immediately lit up. Switching into hype mode, she announced to her followers, “Guys, the GOAT is here,” referring to her mom.
Kim’s reaction said everything. She laughed, genuinely touched, and replied, “I hope someone recorded that. I don’t know if I’ll ever get that again.”
The interaction stayed light, but Kim made her boundaries clear. When North suggested that Kim show her face to boost views and “make some money” from the livestream, Kim shut it down immediately. “What?! No, no, no,” she said, before adding, “You know I don’t like this.” She stayed off-camera, reminding North and everyone watching that she was supervising, not co-hosting. “I’m ready for bed, so I’m not getting on this Live,” she added.
Social media quickly filled with praise, calling her a hands-on parent who understands the internet but doesn’t let it run the house.
North, for her part, seems focused and confident. She’s already released a song titled Piercing on My Hand and is being homeschooled with an emphasis on brand building and music production. Kim has previously shared that supporting North’s creative interests has even helped improve co-parenting with Kanye West, creating more alignment around what’s best for their kids.
