Oakland Rapper ‘Tan Da God’ Shot And Killed While Hosting Grand Opening For Her Beauty Supply Store

Over the weekend, rising Oakland rapper ‘Tan Da God’ was tragically shot and killed during a grand opening event at a beauty supply store.

The suspect is still at large, and police are actively investigating the incident.

‘Tan Da God’, who had amassed a following of 20,000 on Instagram, was beginning to make a name for herself in the rap scene.

She was invited to appear at the grand opening of Glamor Beauty Supply on Telegraph Avenue in Oakland on Saturday.

Throughout the day, ‘Tan Da God’ engaged with her fans from a gold throne, backed by a vibrant purple and pink floral wall.

However, the event took a deadly turn at around 5 p.m. when a shooter arrived at the store.

Witnesses reported hearing an altercation outside followed by gunshots. Tan Da God collapsed on the sidewalk outside the store, while the gunman fled the scene.

Nearby, bullets left holes and shattered glass across the street. Some witnesses sought refuge in an adjacent donut shop until it was safe to emerge.

Paramedics arrived and transported ‘Tan Da God’ to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Oakland police also reported that a second gunshot victim arrived at a local emergency room and is in stable condition. Authorities are appealing to the public for any videos or photos that might aid in the investigation.

Well-known Oakland rapper Mistah FAB shared his condolences on Instagram, revealing that he had initially planned to be at the beauty shop event but had to change his plans.

He described Tan Da God as “a hustling go-getter, with a world of ambition, drive and courage and a heart as big as TEXAS!!!!”

In the wake of the tragedy, mourners have left vases of roses and photos of Tan Da God outside the beauty store, paying tribute to the late rapper.
