In a heartbreaking development, a young man, William Christian Thomas, 23, has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Rosalin Lewis.
Described as a cherished cheerleading coach and devoted mother of three in Texas, Lewis’ tragic end unfolded at Myrtis Village apartments, where she was found dead, prompting authorities to take Thomas into custody on a murder charge.
Currently held in the Jasper County Jail with a $1 million bond, Thomas’s legal proceedings remain unclear. Lewis’s cause of death was identified as “blunt force trauma,” as revealed by the Jasper Police Department.
Lewis, aged 24, leaves behind three young children, aged 2, 3, and 5. To help ease the burden of funeral expenses, her loved ones have initiated a GoFundMe campaign.
The fundraiser not only highlights the financial support needed but also paints a poignant picture of Lewis’s life.
Beyond being a mother, she was a dedicated cheerleading coach and the founder of “Stunning Stars Cheer & Dance,” a venture she embarked upon in her senior year of high school alongside her mother, Schwanda Scott.
The impact of Lewis’s presence extended beyond her family, reaching the Jasper community.
Every young girl she trained became a cheerleader for Jasper High School, a testament to her remarkable influence. Scott, in expressing her grief, emphasized that Rosalin’s legacy would endure through the love and memories shared by her children, family, team, friends, and the wider community.
As the investigation into this tragic incident continues, the community mourns the loss of a vibrant and influential individual, remembering Rosalin Lewis for her indelible mark on their lives.
