Rapper Chika hopped on Twitter over the weekend to put Los Angeles nightclub promoter Brandon Anthony for his shoddy treatment and subsequent disrespects after booking her for a Black Pride event.
Chika says she offered $2,000 to host the party at The Chapel in West Hollywood was disrespected and shortchanged.
“This is why I don’t f-ck with the industry. Keep disrespecting me, it’s gonna get physical. I’m from Alabama, b-tch don’t play with me,” he tweeted. “Offered me 2k, no complimentary bottles, I paid $1600 for the tab, they didn’t play ONE song of mine, but played like 5 of guest’s (kehlani.)”
The rapper quickly added that the tweet was not a reflection of her gal pal, Kehlani.
“Btw, this has nothing to do with lani. She isn’t responsible for d-ckriders. It’s the n-gga running the event,” she added. “He has now blocked me and limited his comments on both pages. I’d report it for fraud.”
Kehlai retweeted Chika’s post, cosigning her version of events:
“Would you believe me if I said I ain’t hear one song of mine at an event ‘hosted’ as a favor in the first place?” the rapper wrote. “And still covered the tab.”
Chika also posted comments where the promoter referred to her as “Chika Fat Sticks” and said that her“music sucks.”
“My comments been limited before your comments. So do your research. I don’t care about you. Never did. The club was packed before you stepped yo heavy a– in the building. We actually needed the space. So you didn’t have to show up. One thing about me…I WILL REMAIN UNBOTHERED. Go in the study and get a number one hit. You lost your wallet and your mind,” he wrote.
“One things about me is I never gave a f-ck about you being there. It was because no one else cares who you are. So I gave you roses. Sorry you felt a thorn.”
He soon deleted the tweets.
“I came as a friend to support Chika, & one of the DJ’s. using her image, name and likeness for the face of the event while treating her like this during and after,” Kehlani tweeted. “Me and all the homies stand with you Chi that wasn’t cool.”
Supporters flooded Chika’s mentions, agreeing that Black women have to endure an endless stream of disrespect on a consistent basis.
“It’s absolutely wild to me how much disrespect black women have to shoulder,” one follower commented. “And It feels like only OTHER black women see it??? Cuz erbody else will surely find a way to spin it as “not that bad” or like we makin sh-t up. Just kno we see you Chika. And we kno the sh-t is WHACK.”
The promoter appears to have since deleted his Instagram account.
