Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has been selected national co-chair of the Harris-Walz Campaign, according to an announcement released Wednesday.
In a statement, the 43-year-old representative, serving Texas’s 30th district wrote:
“I am incredibly honored and thank Vice President Harris and Governor Walz for trusting me to be a part of this exciting and vibrant campaign rooted in improving the everyday lives of all Americans across this country.”
“While them momentum is on our side,, we’re still the underdogs in this fight. Fron now until the polls close on November 5th, all of us have to lock-in and do whatever it takes to make one more phone call, send one more text, knock on one more door. When our vert freedom is at stake, being on the sidelines simply isn’t an option.”
The congressional freshman further stated that with her background as a public defender and civil rights attorney, it was important for her to support a former prosecutor as well. “Kamala Harris and I share a belief in the power of restorative justice that she’s demonstrated through her entire career.”
Earlier this month, Shine My Crown reported about Rep. Crockett’s support for Vice President Harris as a potential successor to President Biden. At the time, she criticized those who have been urging the president to step down. In a post on the social media platform X, Crockett praised Biden, stating that the issue lies with the Democrats, not the president. Biden announced in July that he would be withdrawing from the presidential race after facing increasing pressure to resign following a poorly received debate performance.
“Well I hope the geniuses that pushed the most consequential President of our lifetime out, have a plan. WHO in the hell couldn’t sell the MF Accomplishments & win over a 34 time convicted Felon who isn’t even allowed to operate businesses in the state of NY (and therefore should automatically be disallowed from say running the country) & his ENTIRE team IS project 2025?! Joe wasn’t the problem… dems were,” Crockett wrote on X.
She added: “I know one thing, I will only work for @KamalaHarris! If it’s anyone OTHER than her, enjoy campaign season… I hope all of my disenchanted colleagues are able to find some walking shoes and get to work because I WILL NOT!”
