“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore have not seen eye to eye in years. But after NeNe recently shared the news that her husband Gregg Leakes would soon be “transitioning to the other side,” Kenya posted a warm tribute to Gregg on her social media.
“You don’t know what we’re dealing with right now,” NeNe said on stage at her Linnethia Lounge in Atlanta. “We walked in this lounge because we had to walk in this lounge because this is our business. So, when people approach and say, ‘You’re rude because you don’t want to say happy birthday,’ my husband is at home dying. And I don’t want to say, ‘Happy birthday,’ okay? So please, give us some respect. Give us some love. You see my son right here? He’s hurting. I’m hurting.”
“My husband is losing his life at this very moment,” she shared, quite evidently in distress.
As the messages of love and support rolled in, Kenya wrote:
“Praying for Gregg, [Nene], and their family. Even through all our ups and downs, Gregg never treated me differently- he was always kind and respectful.”
While the Atlanta Housewives are notorious for getting in their wives’ business and creating drama themselves, Gregg always remained a class act and always remained respectful.
Last month, NeNe shared that Gregg was back at home — six weeks after he was admitted for treatment related to the return of his cancer.
“I was suppose to be hosting The Talk today,” NeNe responded to a fan who asked her why she had been missing in action. “But I got good news that Gregg was coming home after being hospitalized 6 weeks.”
NeNe and Gregg first tied the knot in 1997 and divorced in 2011. After a brief separation, they remarried in 2013.
