Tyla made a splash with her subtle response to the drama surrounding accusations that she stole Yung Miami’s unreleased song concept. The South African singer addressed the situation in her signature, stylish, and sassy way, keeping social media buzzing.
To recap, on October 16, Yung Miami of City Girls took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to vent her frustrations. She accused Tyla of stealing her song idea after showcasing it during a private listening session. “This girl really ran off with my song, and I don’t know how to feel about it. Mind you, I played this song for this girl,” Miami tweeted.
She didn’t hold back, referencing her own song in the process. “Like… b***h, I’m confused! ‘Take me to Chanel’> ‘Put me in Chanel,'” she pointed out the similarities between her track and Tyla’s upcoming single. Initially, fans were puzzled about who she was talking about, until one user made the connection: “PSA. It is Tyla! She has a new song called Chanel. The chorus is ‘Put me in Chanel, put me in Chanel.'” Miami confirmed it with a heated, “Let’s talk about it!!!!!” sparking a widespread reaction online.
While many fans supported Yung Miami, arguing she deserved recognition, others felt she was overreacting. One user noted, “Girl, if you had the song, why didn’t you drop it first?” Miami swiftly shot back, “Don’t matter, it’s my mf song!!!”
Tyla’s response was anything but direct. Instead of getting caught up in the drama, she chose to promote her upcoming single. She posted a stunning photo on her social media, captioning it: “CHANEL OCT 24. NEXT FRIDAY. PRE-SAVE LINK IN BIO for the girls fighting me onlineeeee!!!! We did our big one.”

Comments flooded in on her post, filled with praise, laughter, and skepticism. One fan quipped, “Tyla said she’s too busy being booked and blessed to argue.” Another added, “The clapback without clapping back. We stan.”
At this point, Tyla hasn’t outright responded to Yung Miami’s claims, and it looks like she doesn’t intend to. Meanwhile, Miami’s supporters are encouraging her to release her version of the song to back her claims. Regardless of whether this conflict is resolved, Tyla’s “Chanel” is set to drop on October 24.
