Rapper Sexyy Red and General Manager Ava kicked off Tuesday’s “WWE NXT” episode with a major announcement about NXT’s upcoming premium live event in Las Vegas.
Sexyy Red is one of America’s fast-rising rappers of all time. Within a short space of coming out, she has been linked to establishing names in the industry, like Drake and Nicki Minaj.
The 26-year-old Missourian shot into the limelight when she broke up with her boyfriend and penned a saucy diss track to him. Since then, Sexyy Red has gained more popularity in the music world and beyond.
Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj was featured in her hit song, “Pound Town,” which went viral on TikTok.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the USA Network premiered a brand-new NXT episode from WWE.
Ava kicks off the show in the online footage by welcoming Sexyy Red to NXT. She then declares Sexy Red as the presenter of the WWE NXT Battleground pay-per-view.
Sexy Red takes the mic and confirms the privilege of unveiling the NXT Women’s North American Title. Shortly after, Tatum Paxley appears and begins to tug of war with her over the title. Minchin then comes out, and the first match of the night starts.
Sexyy Red first shared the news herself on her X account.
She wrote, “I can’t wait to go to NXT next week y’all I might RKO somebody.”
Before the big announcement, Sexyy Red had earlier stated that she wanted to appear in a WWE production.
Last year, she had a big fan moment in WWE when she shared a post of her hit song, “SkeeYee,” mixed with one of superstar Jey Uso’s entrances.
First, on Sunday, June 9, Sexyy Red will host NXT Battleground from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Second, the title belt for the new NXT Women’s North American Championship was unveiled.
