Cori Broadus said goodbye to baby Codi Dreaux

In a deeply moving tribute, Cori Broadus said a heartbreaking goodbye to her daughter, Codi Dreaux. The ceremony was a sea of pink florals and matching shirts, serving as a poignant farewell for the ten-month-old who fought valiantly since her premature birth.

Surrounded by close family and loved ones, Cori honored the life of her daughter, sharing moments that captured both the immense depth of a mother’s love and the profound weight of her loss. This farewell follows an incredibly challenging year for the Broadus family, marked by a lengthy NICU journey and the emotional highs and lows of fighting for Codi’s life.

The struggle began early in Cori’s pregnancy, when she was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, a severe complication characterized by the destruction of red blood cells, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet counts. Due to this critical condition, Codi was born prematurely at just twenty-five weeks. The infant spent nearly ten months in the neonatal intensive care unit, battling against overwhelming odds before finally coming home earlier this month. The joy of having her baby home, however, was tragically short-lived, with Cori sharing the devastating news of Codi’s passing on January 31, just twenty days after bringing her home.

Cori, the youngest child and only daughter of cultural icon Snoop Dogg, shared a tragic update on Instagram Stories, posting a tender black-and-white photo of herself smiling while holding her daughter. She captioned the heartbreaking image simply, “Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi.”

Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also took to social media to express his grief, sharing images of himself holding the infant and writing about the profound sadness he has felt since her departure. He reaffirmed his love for their daughter, expressing hope that she is now at peace.

The family is now asking for privacy as they navigate this unimaginable sorrow.
