On Monday evening and most of Tuesday, Porsha Williams trended online social media after she announced her engagement to Simon Guobadia.
Simon happens to be the estranged husband of her Real Housewives of Atlanta castmate, Falynn Guobadia.
Falynn is only considered a “friend of the show,” but her introduction to the franchise was a “Porsha’s friend.”
In an Instagram post, Porsha detailed her relationship with Simon, even going as far as to deny that she and Falynn were ever close. She says she and Simon have been dating for just a month — but that it’s true love.
“Our relationship began a month ago—yes we are crazy in love. I know it’s fast but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy and to me, that is what matters most,” she gushed.
Her post featured a close-up photo of her and her new beau.
Only last month, Simon and Falynn released a joint statement announcing their separation.
Porsha says their breakup had nothing to do with her.
“For all of you that need facts, I get the optics but Simon filed for divorce from a previous marriage in January. I had nothing to do with their divorce filing. That’s between the two of them.”
That clears that up, then…
And as for Falynn:
“Falynn and I are not friends, and Simon’s divorce has been settled. Our relationship is a positive, loving step forward in everybody’s lives,” she wrote.
Even on the show, Falynn appears to be non-confrontational, so it’s no surprise that she’s not all over the blogs engaging in a hostile back and forth with Porsha.
But, however amicable the breakup may have been, the news and subsequent denial of any friendship between she and Porsha must feel like an immense kick in the teeth for Falynn.
