SZA is officially clapping back at Nicki Minaj, and this time, she brought screenshots.
After days of Nicki unleashing a wild series of insults toward the GRAMMY-winning singer, calling her “fat,” “ugly,” and claiming she “sounds like a dead dog,” SZA has had enough. And rather than match the energy with insults, she hit back with facts. Or better yet… receipts.
In a tweet that stopped timelines in their tracks, SZA responded directly to Nicki’s jabs with a calm, composed, and cutting message:
“Nicki. You absolutely know my music and what I contribute, cause you’ve asked for features twice with no response.”
She didn’t stop there. SZA reminded folks that Nicki once rapped her own lyrics on Beyoncé’s “Feeling Myself,” specifically the line: “Cooking up the bass, looking like a kilo.”
SZA’s calling cap on the idea that Nicki suddenly doesn’t rate SZA or her music.
To back it all up, SZA posted a screenshot of what appeared to be Nicki reaching out via a mutual contact to collab on a track. In the message, Nicki suggested that she wanted SZA on a hook because she thought SZA would be “dope on it.” The tone was friendly and professional.
This all started when Nicki, 42, fired off a cryptic tweet on Tuesday that seemed to target SZA without naming her directly. The tweet was paired with an awkward old clip of SZA trying to greet Rihanna at the Met Gala. Nicki captioned it:
“lol. These be the fake girl’s girls who talk shit but will run u down for a photo…” and ended with the hashtag #JusticeForDemoree.

That came after Nicki accused SZA’s former manager, Punch (TDE exec), of bullying her. SZA, not taking the bait, posted a lighthearted message:
“Mercury retrograde… don’t take the bait lol silly goose.”
But Nicki wasn’t feeling the “silly goose” energy. Instead, she escalated, calling SZA a liar and comparing her voice to a “f*cking dead dog.” She also took shots at SZA’s success, asking:
“Does SZA think she’s more successful than me?… If every song you’ve ever done vanished right now, the music business wouldn’t even miss you.”
But SZA, 35, calmly pointed out that Nicki once wanted her on not one, but two tracks, and had been ignored.
For now, neither Nicki nor her team has responded to the screenshot SZA shared.
Stay tuned.
