During the SXSW premiere of her new movie ‘The Last O.G,’ Haddish was asked about the social media petition to get her and Maya Rudolph to host the next Oscars.
Haddish is open to the idea – as long as she gets paid for it!
“In my mind, Maya and I, we auditioned for the ultimate job because I thought we was getting paid for that presentation. And then I found out we didn’t get paid, then I was like, ‘I heard about gift bags.’ And then they were like, ‘We don’t got no gift bags,’ And then I was like ‘Well what do I get?’ and they [said] ‘We got a bottle of wine that’s like $13.’ So I had to buy the wine.” As the audience cheered and laughed at the comedian’s response, she continued.
“At the end of the day, I would love to do something like that. That would be a dream come true. I know my father would be extremely proud if I got to do that. As long as I get a paycheck.”

We know that the Oscars has the budget, so they need to works out the deets and get Haddish and Rudolph paid so that we can turn up at the next year’s ceremony!
‘The Last O.G.’ centers around Tray (Tracy Morgan) is an ex-con who is shocked to see just how much the world has changed when he is released from prison for good behavior after a 15-year stint. Returning to his newly gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood, he discovers that his former girlfriend, Shay (Tiffany Haddish), has married an affable, successful white man (Ryan Gaul) who is helping raise the twins (Taylor Mosby and Dante Hoagland) Tray never knew existed. Wanting nothing more than to connect with his kids, but having neither the money to support them nor himself, Tray falls back on the skills he learned in prison to make ends meet while treading unfamiliar territory.
The show premieres on TBS April 3rd.
