South African rising star Tyla has released the deluxe edition of her self-titled debut album, adding three new tracks to the already celebrated project.
Released on Friday, October 11, via FAX and Epic Records, the updated version of Tyla includes the songs “Shake Ah” featuring Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Maestro, “Push 2 Start,” and “Back to You.”
The original album, which debuted on March 22, 2024, has been a major hit, reaching No. 24 on the Billboard 200, No. 2 on Top R&B Albums, and dominating the World Albums chart at No. 1 for five consecutive weeks.
It featured standout tracks like her Billboard Hot 100 smash “Water,” which peaked at No. 7, as well as “Truth or Dare,” “Art,” and “Jump,” a high-energy collaboration with Gunna and Skillibeng.
Tyla also joined forces with major global artists like Tems, Becky G, and Travis Scott on her debut project, further elevating her status as a breakout star.
At just 22, Tyla has already made waves on the global stage. Earlier this year, she became the first-ever recipient of the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance for her hit “Water,” which also earned her the Best Afrobeats award at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. Her electric energy and success were further celebrated when she was honored with the Global Force Award at Billboard’s inaugural R&B No. 1s party in New York.
Tyla’s busy year continues with a highly anticipated performance at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15 in New York City. Sharing the stage with legends Cher and LISA, Tyla will be part of an all-female lineup in this special event, which fans can stream live on Victoria’s Secret’s Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Amazon Prime Video.
In addition to her performance at Victoria’s Secret, Tyla recently joined the 2024 Coke Studio lineup, performing alongside Usher, Peggy Gou, NewJeans, and Karol G. As part of the partnership, she will deliver a special performance in her hometown of Johannesburg, where she’ll debut a new song crafted exclusively for Coke Studio.
With the release of her deluxe album and an array of high-profile appearances, Tyla is continuing to carve out her place as a global powerhouse in the music industry.
