It seems that Latto might be considering mending fences with Nicki Minaj. The “Big Energy” rapper made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen this past weekend and stirred up some excitement among fans when she hinted that she’s open to putting past conflicts to rest, including the much-discussed feud with Nicki Minaj.
During the interview, Andy congratulated her on her reconciliation with Ice Spice and then posed the question everyone was curious about: “Will you be able to work things out with Nicki Minaj, too?” Latto, clearly amused by the question, laughed and responded, “Girls, ya know we just… her team reached out to my team… (and) we figured it out,” alluding to her recent peace with Ice Spice. She then playfully added, “I’m open to rekindling with anybody.”
For a brief moment, the room fell silent before fellow guest Gizelle Bryant from The Real Housewives of Potomac jumped in with, “We love Nicki.” To which Latto replied with a cheeky smile, “I did, too.”
That last comment sent social media into a frenzy, with fans quickly taking to X (formerly Twitter) to dissect her words. One user pointed out, “She said I did too… not I do too! That’s shade with a capital S.” Another added, “Latto’s trying to be the bigger person, but that petty Gemini energy still slipped through.”
To jog memories, the friction between Latto and Nicki began back in 2022 when they clashed over Grammy nominations. Nicki’s hit “Super Freaky Girl” was moved to the pop category, while Latto’s “Big Energy” remained in rap, prompting Nicki to express her frustration online. Latto responded, and what ensued was a messy back-and-forth, complete with leaked DMs, name-calling, and a rapid decline from mutual admiration into a viral feud.
Nonetheless, Latto’s recent comments indicate at least a willingness to keep things civil. Whether Nicki shares the same sentiment remains uncertain.
