On Saturday, April 19, at the Tycoon Festival in Detroit, Sexyy Red didn’t just hit the stage. She also had a backstage moment that’s now gone viral.
She met R&B king Chris Brown and turned what could’ve been a simple photo op into a whole vibe. Backstage footage showed Sexyy glowing with excitement, smiling ear to ear as she posed with Breezy. But she didn’t stop there. In a bold and hilarious move, she reached for Chris’ arms and wrapped them tightly around her waist like they were already taking engagement pics.
The moment had fans howling and relating!
Sexyy Red even posted the clip on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “This how dem meet and greets be like

But the love didn’t start backstage. Sexyy was in the front row during Chris’ headlining set at Little Caesars Arena, soaking in every second of the Tycoon Festival’s Detroit debut. With phone in hand, she gave fans a front-row view via her Instagram Stories, posting clips of Breezy performing while the crowd lit up the arena with flashlight waves.
The Tycoon Music Festival, now in its sixth year, brought the energy with a stacked lineup that included Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Skilla Baby, and surprise appearances from Detroit’s own Tee Grizzley—and of course, Sexyy Red. Launched by Chris Brown’s manager, Ant Wilson, in 2019, the festival has lit up cities like Atlanta and Houston, and Detroit did not disappoint.
This year’s Tycoon Fest is taking place on the night before 4/20, widely recognized as the unofficial holiday for cannabis enthusiasts. Wilson organized the lineup with a specific theme in consideration.
“I don’t smoke myself, but I wanted to bring some people who are known to smoke,” he says. “So to celebrate 4/20 for everybody in Detroit, that’s what it is a little singing, a little smoking, so Detroit can have some fun.”
The 2024 event, hosted in Atlanta, showcased an exclusively R&B lineup with performances by Ashanti, Monica, Ty Dolla $ign, and others. In earlier years, the event has included artists such as Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Young Thug, and more.
