Former talk show host Wendy Williams has been granted permission by a New York judge to travel to Miami to celebrate her father’s 94th birthday, despite remaining under a strict court-appointed guardianship that has significantly limited her freedom.
Limited Travel Under Court Supervision

According to sources, Williams, 59, will be accompanied by private security for a two-day visit before returning to New York, where she currently resides in a studio apartment at an assisted living facility.
The decision marks a rare moment of personal autonomy for Williams, who has faced severe restrictions under the legal arrangement controlling her finances and personal affairs.
Williams’ guardianship has come under intense scrutiny, particularly following revelations in her upcoming Tubi documentary, “Saving Wendy”, where she describes her living situation as a “luxury prison.”
The former TV personality has reportedly been denied internet access, restricted from visitors, and has had virtually no contact with the outside world, raising concerns about the level of control imposed by her guardianship.
Judge Bars Further Media Contact
Despite allowing Williams to travel for her father’s milestone celebration, the court has placed a strict gag order, prohibiting her from speaking to the media.
This latest development further fuels speculation over the ongoing legal battle surrounding her guardianship, with questions being raised about the transparency of the arrangement.
The Tubi documentary, “Saving Wendy,” set to premiere on Feb. 12, aims to shed light on the controversial conservatorship and the circumstances that have left Williams fighting for control over her own life.
