Woman Robbed, Followed and Carjacked in Traumatic Gas Station Attack

by Gee NY

What began as a routine stop for gas turned into a life-threatening ordeal for Regina Seymour and her friend in Orange Mound.

Seymour recounted to FOX13 how she was robbed, followed, and ultimately carjacked in a terrifying sequence of events that spanned two Memphis gas stations.

The incident began on Aug 16 at the Save & Go gas station on Park Avenue, just after 10 p.m. Seymour said a black Cadillac struck her vehicle as she was backing out. When she stepped out, a man confronted her with a gun, demanded money, and took her phone.

“I was scared. I was hoping he didn’t shoot me. I just threw my hands up and backed away,” Seymour recalled.

Believing she had escaped, Seymour left the scene. But according to police, the same black Cadillac followed her to another gas station on Lamar Avenue. There, two armed men jumped out, threatened her, and demanded her 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander along with everything inside.

Seymour said she tried to defend herself with a knife from her car, but one of the suspects pointed a gun with an extended barrel at her and threatened to kill her. The men then fled in her vehicle, taking with them two designer purses, IDs, wallets, and several hundred dollars in cash.

For Seymour, the experience was especially painful after already losing a loved one to gun violence last year. She is now calling for tougher laws to keep violent offenders behind bars.

“I can get another purse or whatever, but I know I can’t get another life,” she said. “When they go to jail for these aggravated crimes, y’all gonna have to leave them in jail with no bond. You cannot give them no bond.”

The Memphis Police Department confirmed that no arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the suspects or Seymour’s missing vehicle to contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH.
