Natasha Renee Harris, a 30-year-old mother from Maryland, had been living in constant fear of her ex-boyfriend, who had been stalking her for months, according to friends and family.
The troubling situation reached a tragic end on the night of Oct. 29, 2024, when Harris was found in a parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, just outside an apartment complex.
Despite being rushed to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Harris succumbed to her injuries overnight.
Harris’s fear of her ex-boyfriend’s stalking had grown so severe that she would often ask others to walk her to her car for safety.
The ongoing custody battle she was involved in had already added stress to her life, making her recent days especially difficult, according to records reviewed by CBS News.
Anne Arundel County Police received a 911 call from a resident who reported hearing several gunshots in the area.
“Upon arrival, officers located a female victim in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds,” stated police spokesperson Adrienne Johnson.
Authorities are investigating, but no arrests have been made so far.
The devastating loss has left Harris’s family heartbroken.
“I get a call from Anne Arundel County police telling me my daughter was shot dead in the parking lot on her way to work,” said her father, Dwight Harris. “It hurts me to my heart.”
