A day after her crew announced that her daytime talk show would be delayed because she tested positive for COVID-19, talk it is being reported that Wendy Williams has been hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation.
According to British tabloid, The Sun, the NYPD received a call on Tuesday and were asked to send an ambulance to transport a woman, aged 57, to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
“It has been a very difficult time for Wendy. She’s a single woman with very few friends. She lost her marriage, her mom, and is living alone,” a source told Page Six. “There is a lot on her plate.”
Earlier this week, the chat queen skipped her promotional duties because of “ongoing health issues.”
“While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19,” the show’s statement reads. “To allow Wendy time to quarantine and fully recover and to ensure that our production fully abides by SAG/AFTRA and DGA Covid protocols, we expect to begin the 13th season of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday, October 4th. In the meantime, repeats will be scheduled.”
Williams has previously spoken frankly about the impact Graves disease has had on her life. She also suffers from Lymphedema.
“I feel a hundred percent better than I was a few months ago. I had a storm going in my body is the best way I can explain it,” said Williams to People. “It came from me neglecting my six month endocrinology appointment. I have Graves’ disease and hyperthyroid. If you have one you don’t necessarily have to have the other, but I have both, and I was diagnosed with both 19 years ago,” she added.
