American singer Ciara shared how large her family has grown since she began her motherhood journey nine years ago.
On May 19, 2014, Ciara had her first child, Future Zahir Wilburn, with rapper Future. The former couple dated between 2012 and 2014, calling it quits less than one year after they got engaged after welcoming their son.
While appearing on the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the “Level Up” singer shared why she ended things with Future.
Ciara revealed that becoming a mother shifted her perspective. The hitmaker divulged that she started reflecting and questioning her choices because she was now responsible for another person.
“You, kind of, have to define everything about making changes in your life that are very critical. When you have a child, it’s very important to me. It’s no time to play around. I am now responsible for another life, so what am I doing? How am I thinking that through?” she explained.
Soon after the “public” and “painful” separation, Ciara met her now-husband, Russell Wilson.
Before officially tying the knot, Ciara and Russel reached an agreement while she was touring to remain celibate.
The Denver Broncos quarterback disclosed that he was led by the Holy Spirt to take sex off the table before marriage in a conversation with Pastor Miles McPherson of San Diego’s Rock Church.
“I was sitting in the dressing room, she was getting ready to go about 15 minutes before she went onstage, and she was sitting there, and God spoke to me and said, ‘I need you to lead her,’” the American Footballer said. “And I was like, ‘Really? Right now?’ And he was like, ‘No, I want you, need you to lead her.'”
Currently, the famous couple has four healthy children. 9-year-old Future Zahir, 6-year-old Sienna Princess, 3-year-old Win Harrison, and baby Amora Princess in December 2023.
